Acquisition of a Full Size GE U-Boat Cab Simulator! - Part 2

The U33C Cab which we acquired is based on the Delaware and Hudson U33C #757 shown in the picture above. We intend to finish the cab in the same colour scheme in due course.

At the below left, we see a shot of the cab which was being developed in a large building built for this purpose. The final two pictures show the interior of the cab with its AAR Standard control stand at the engineer's position.

Tha U33C cab as we acquired it is a functional simulator but does require further work on our part to prepare a steel frame structure to properly support it for access by museum visitors and to finish the outside surfaces as well as the doors and windows. We will be developing such a structure over the next few weeks. We also plan to attach the entire structure to a pair of "speeder wheel/axle assemblies" so that we may easily move the simulator around the trackage of the museum as we continue to need to move equipment around until the museum settles down into its final configuration.
