Donation: Step Stools As Used by the UCRS for the Cape Race!

Donations of artefacts and documents have played a big role in growing our museum. Today, we are pleased to announce the donation by Richard Eastman of Fonthill, Ontario of a pair of passenger car step stools as shown in the attached photographs.

These were actually used by the Upper Canada railway Society (UCRS) to provide access to one of our passenger cars, the Cape Race when they used in the their excursion train operations many decades ago. One of these was originally built and likely used by the Pullman before eventually being acquired by the UCRS. The other was either made or purchased by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) before being also acquired and used by the UCRS.
