Field Trip to the Florida Live Steamers - Part 3 of 3


Central Pasco & Gulf Railroad

The third stop on Michael's Guy's field trip to the Florida Live Steamers was at the Central Pasco & Gulf (CP&G) Railroad meet in Crewes Lake County Park in Pasco County.  The above image by Michael Guy shows his father, John Guy driving Michael's locomotive on their track.

The CP&G is modeled after the Orange Belt Railroad that ran through the area in the late 1800's. Station names like Trilby, Lachooche, Macon and Lenard are located along the track as they did over 100 years ago on the original Orange Belt. A museum has just been opened in the park to remember the Orange Belt Railroad. The gathering of items to display is in progress.
