A Great Passion For Model Trains at Exporail

On the weekend of August 15 and 16, Exporail, The Canadian Railway Museum, hosted a special exhibition called "A Great Passion For Model Trains." Over 1,500 visitors were expected to experience this annual event over its two-day run.

Model trains in N, HO, S and O scales filled the mezzanine level of Exporail's Angus Pavilion and even spread into parts of the main floor display area. The weekend exhibition featured some of eastern Canada's most finely crafted modular and portable scale model railroads, along with crowd and kid-pleasing favourites like the O Scale Hogwart's Express from the Harry Potter books and movies and a sprawling LEGO train setup.

Exporail is located in St. Constant, Quebec, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River near Montreal. Its enormous permanent collection of full-sized Canadian railway artifacts makes it worth a visit any time you're in the Montreal area. Special exhibits like this one make the visit even better, but even at other times of the year it's still possible to see some excellent HO-scale modelling work on the museum's permanently installed model railroad.  Click here for more information.
